Springwatch on our doorstep!

Its great to have Springwatch back on telly again and to see all those amazing shots at Ynys-hir - love the barn owls, and the ospreys, Nora and Monty, of course!
Ynys-hir and the Dyfi Osprey Project are only about a 45 minute drive from Pentre Bach http://www.pentrebach.com/ and well worth a visit- even when Springwatch isn't on.

The Paddlewales festival on the Mawddach was well attended , and although it was gloriously sunny, it was really, really windy and it was no surprise to see at least one rafted canoe sink in the harbour! Everyone appeared to get ashore safely, however. It was far too windy while we were in Barmouth on the Saturday for any sand sculpting or volleyball- anyone trying it out would get a serious sandblast! Not sure if any of that went on , on the Sunday.

The Olympic Torch was passed through Dolgellau today, without a hitch on a beautifully sunny, and wind-free day. Phew!

Next events coming up- the Three Peaks Challenge Yacht Race starting from Barmouth and ending in Fort William, sets off on the 16th of June. Don't miss it! More information to follow!
